Tour Plan

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi

  • Early Morning: Depart from Kampala or Entebbe (around 7:00 AM). The drive takes approximately 8-10 hours (about 540 km), with scenic stops along the way, including the Equator crossing.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi (e.g., Mahogany Springs, Rushaga, Buhoma). Check-in, relax, and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Community Visit

  • Early Morning: Breakfast at the lodge, then brief at Uganda Wildlife Authority offices.
  • Morning: Begin gorilla trekking (starts around 7:00 AM). Enjoy a trek through the forest (lasting 2-4 hours), with chances to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
  • Midday: Spend up to 1 hour with the gorillas, taking photos and observing them.
  • Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch. Optional visit to a local community or Batwa pygmy tribe to learn about their culture.
  • Evening: Relax, enjoy the forest atmosphere, or participate in a nature walk.

Day 3: Nature Walks & Departure

  • Morning: Breakfast, then go for guided nature walks, bird watching, or visit scenic viewpoints around Bwindi.
  • Late Morning: Check out from the lodge.
  • Afternoon: Begin journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with possible stopovers at the Equator crossing or cultural sites.
  • Evening: Arrive in Kampala/Entebbe, concluding your trip.
